I’ve been looking forward to blogging this session ever since I delivered the final gallery! Emma & Evan eloped in Italy earlier in the year and then hosted the prettiest backyard reception for their family & friends on family property.

DIY Touches and Personal Details in an Illinois Backyard

The decor was beautiful and simple and was the perfect palette for a late summer reception. Emma & Evan mingled with their guests while they snacked on yummy appetizers made by the family. There were fun outdoor games for the guests, a polaroid guest book, and stick on tattoos that were especially fun for the kiddos!

Summer Vibes at an Illinois Wedding Reception

As evening fell everyone gathered for a delicious italian meal, speeches, dessert and a very fun dance floor! The festivities weren’t over yet, though! Once it was dark enough there was a bonfire, s’more bar and fireworks. All in all it was a beautiful, relaxing, and intimate little backyard reception. Emma & Evan’s day is the perfect example of doing things YOUR way! Elope and then have a local reception if you want! Host in your backyard! Dress up in your wedding clothes again even if it isn’t your actual wedding day. This day is about your, your spouse, and what you make it.
